For those schools already using TERC as their math curriculum and feeling comfortable with its use in the classroom you will probably want to go directly to the next page: The logistics of the computer portion of teaching TERC. For those wanting a more complete explanation of the TERC math curriculum you may want to visit the TERC web site. To find more information about the mathematical standards that TERC adheres to, the software used with TERC learning curricula, or the programs that will parallel the lessons in TERC, please go to the Resources page.

TERC is a not-for-profit education research and development organization whose mission is to improve mathematics, science, and technology teaching and learning. The area this site concentrates on is concerned with the portion of TERC that works to create curricula and other products. TERC curricula that concerns mathematical investigation for this site is known as Investigations in Number, Data, and Space, and promotes the TERC philosophy of inquiry-based curricula. Investigations is a curriculum unit package that is sold by Scott Foresman educational products

Further expounding this notion that experimentation through exploration will allow each child to create their own knowledge, Investigations is a series of group learning experiences and engaging activities that lends itself perfectly to the use of computers in kindergarten through fifth-grade. Whether with a single computer in a homeroom or a 32 computer lab the TERC Investigations or comparable programs are suited for teachable practices.
