Mysterious You

And all the while
Thoughts of mysterious you
With the rain tickling the
Souls of my feet
The sun scratching the
Knoll of my ear
Two watching angels
Kiss each other full on the lips
And disappear
Into echoes of
Their wings laughing.
Waiting
I contemplate love
And discover it not lost
But in the pocket of some stranger
Who it belonged to all the while
How does it go on forever
When man is only half here
Down to the corner bar where
The unanswering stout
Cools my passion with its silent remark
That makes eyes finally shut
Even in such an intertwined
Saddened / Euphoric sleep
Only to wake thinking
Perhaps forever
Of mysterious you.
